The School of Modern Languages at Cardiff University invites applications to its PhD programmes in Modern Languages (Catalan, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Portuguese) and in Translation Studies, including prestigious AHRC-funded opportunities.

AHRC studentships: Cardiff School of Modern Languages is a member of the Languages and Cultures panel of the AHRC South, West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership (AHRC SWW DTP), which offers competitively-awarded fully-funded PhD scholarships. South West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership students benefit from a diverse range of training workshops, opportunities to engage with partners in the arts, heritage, media and cultural sectors, and collaborative supervision giving them access to a range of specialist expertise shared across institutions.
