The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The College of William and Mary seeks applications for a dynamic lecturer to join the Italian Studies program August 10, 2016 with a possibly of renewal for up to three years. The teaching load for this position is 3 courses each semester. Duties include coordinating the Italian language program and teaching language courses at all levels of the curriculum. The lecturer also acts as liaison to the Italian house, collaborating with the House Tutor, who visits from Italy on a yearly basis, in the supervision of House activities and residents.
Minimum: Candidates must have M.A. with ABD status by the time of appointment in Italian studies, second language acquisition or linguistics; experience in language pedagogy and demonstrated excellence in teaching and the use of instructional technology plus native or near native proficiency in Italian and English is required.
Preferred: Ph.D.
