Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Italian language

The Department of Modern Languages at Kansas State University is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Italian language for the 2016-2017 academic year. The position is renewable contingent upon satisfactory progress in the candidate’s M.A. degree and continued departmental need.

GTAs must pursue a graduate degree to be eligible for teaching assistantships. Kansas State does not offer advanced degrees in Italian, but the successful candidate may pair the GTA position in Italian with the pursuit of an M.A. within the Department of Modern Languages—literature or Second Language Acquisition in Spanish, German, and French; Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)—or even another department at the university.

The GTA in Italian will teach the equivalent of three language courses per academic year and carry out all associated responsibilities related to teaching. All GTAs receive a stipend, full tuition remission, and have the opportunity to join the university’s health insurance program.

Interested parties should contact Dr. Anthony Nussmeier (Italian) at aun21@ksu.edu or Dr. Earl Brown (Director of Graduate Studies; TEFL Adviser; Spanish) at ekbrown@ksu.edu.

Sincerely,
Anthony Nussmeier
