The Department of French, Italian and Arabic at The Colorado College seeks a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Italian beginning September 2014. Generalist sought, with preference for candidates with research interests in second language acquisition and/or Cultural Studies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and experience in teaching language and culture at all levels and will be prepared to offer courses for on-site instruction in Italy. Ph.D. in Italian language, literature, or culture, or related field; native or near-native proficiency in Italian required. Colorado College is a distinguished liberal arts college with a history of innovative and interdisciplinary teaching. Evidence of superior teaching commitment to undergraduate education and expertise in the use of technology in the classroom required. Active program of scholarship is an asset.
