PhD studentships in Italian Studies at Edinburgh University - starting 2014-2015


The University of Edinburgh’s School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures is delighted to announce a range of studentships funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The University is part of a consortium of eight Higher Education institutions which has been awarded funding from the AHRC to support postgraduate studentships and training in the Arts and Humanities in Scotland. The consortium expects to grant around 40 studentships in 2014-2015 across the range of Arts and Humanities subjects.

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures provides a stimulating and supportive research environment across a wide range of subject areas, and it also offers a number of exciting cross-disciplinary PhD programmes. The School will consider applications for AHRC awards in the following subject areas:

Creative Writing
English Literature
Film History, Theory and Criticism
Languages: French Studies, German Studies, Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, Italian Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, Russian Studies, Scandinavian Studies
Asiatic and Oriental Studies
Scottish Literature
Scottish Studies
Translation Studies

Eligibility

Applicants must be students from the UK or EU countries and satisfy the eligibility criteria of the AHRC. Successful applications for nomination are likely to hold a first class honours undergraduate degree and/or have demonstrated a distinction level of performance in a master's degree.
